No FO Friday

Random things:

1. I feel like an old car driving down the road with random parts falling off. I find this annoying at 44.  Shoulder still hurts down to my wrist and into my breast.

2. Don't let this silk deceive you with it's color.  This skein of silk is EVIL.  Since I can't knit and hurt too much to concentrate on cross stitch, I thought I would wind some yarn for later.  This skein has been one big tangle that I worked on for 8 hours yesterday.  What you see here has been put in time out to think about it's evil ways.

3. Surfed Ravelry for several hours looking for a suitable pattern for the evil silk.  Found nothing that interests me. Any suggestions?  You know for when I don't feel like my left front fender is hanging from a rusty bolt.

4. D was home today to help take pictures of the babies.  This was the best picture of Four out of four.  She's pretty wriggly.

5. Three loves to have his/her picture taken.  I can't tell the sex yet.

6. All four pictures came out great.  Isn't he/she a beauty?  Actually, Three and Four look like twins.

7.  I need to have a naming contest before Three and Four think that's their names.  I'm not sure how to go about this.  I have yarn for prizes.  I could use that random generator thing, but what if I don't like the name the the person random generator picked.  Hmmm, something to think about.  Again, any suggestions?

8.  I think my shoulder is just bursitis I got years ago pre-nursing lecture. I've probably been sleeping on it wrong.  If it's still hurting in a week, I'll go to a Dr.

Years ago, it started hurting on a Thursday, so Friday I went to the Dr. who said it was bursitis.  Monday, Mrs W. asked what happened to my arm when I came in with a sling.  She laughed about that was what she had planned to lecture on that day.

It wasn't so funny a couple weekends later when my youngest son fell off the slide and fractured his skull.  That Monday's lecture, closed head injuries.

9. Herbie is getting to be a big boy.  He's practicing sleeping standing on a perch. Then he falls off and goes back into the house.

Thanks for stopping by to visit miserable me.  I'm going to try to concentrate on some cross stitch to post about tomorrow.

If you haven't tried a lidoderm patch, you should consider this.

If that silk is fingering weight, Pretty Thing (on ravelry) is a lovely pattern. It would be shiny and delicate.

I never thought about baby birds having to learn about sitting/sleeping on a perch. Poor guy.

Poor you. When yo are feeling miserable it sometimes seems like nothing will go right. I hate knots! Maybe you should gently put it away for tackling another day. I love the birds and think a naming contest would definitely be in order. I know I'll take part!

Hi Denise, sorry you're having pain issues. I'm in the same boat with my knee, doc said it might be bursitis, saw him today for my bloodwork results and he looked at it and now says it's a sprained ligament. What does he know.. huh? :-)

I see I'm not one of the blogs you follow.. ::wah::

Love seeing the birds grow.. can't wait to submit some names. Hubby asked me how Herbie is doing and I told him about him falling off the perch and we both got a giggle out of thinking about that.

Hugs, Teresa

Bursitis is so painful. I hope you'll soon get some relief so you can get back to doing your favorite things.

I can so relate. You are only a couple of years older than me and for me, it's my knees and back. I've been standing too much today. But it is irritating because I feel like I'm too young to be falling apart. I'll grab your bumper if you call me a tow truck.

That are some sweet tiny birdles! They make me smile.

The birdies are looking so beautiful now.

Does heat help on your shoulder at all, or it something that is improved by ice. Some pain can go either way, perhaps you can try a pack of hot or cold.

The naming competition could be done randomly but to enter you have to suggest a name. The winner doesn't have their suggested name used, but you get a nice long list of suggestions

I think that the names of the commenters on this post are some great possibilities for names for the birds - Rudee & Melba - great names! I feel your pain for the tangled skein; with the black and red cotton yarn last fall, I ended up just breaking the yarn periodically and looping the ends when I'd come to them. You probably couldn't do that with pink silk; more's the shame.

So sorry you are not feeling well. Know what you mean about evil tangled yarn. What is the weight? I cannot believe how big the birdies are getting. I'll have to think about names. Feel better!
