WIP Wednesday

It's been one of "those" days. I'm sure you know what I mean.  Our refrigerator died during the night. I knocked on the manager's door at 9am to let him know.  He said he would have one in 30 minutes, he just needed to figure out which empty unit had a working one.  He pulled one out of storage and plugged into the laundry to make sure it worked.  Nope.  That storage unit is literally a mausoleum for dead refrigerators. He told me I had to wait until after 3pm for some of his guys to come over and help him pull one out of one of the upstairs units.  At 4:30pm, I finally got a working but very tiny, 1/3 smaller, refrigerator.  He said, he would get us a bigger one in a couple weeks after the first when another comes empty.

It was very cool and actually rained for a bit this afternoon.  I would have liked to have sat outside after the rain stopped.  Instead, I was busy dealing with the above, and I'm exhausted.  I was going to make a special cake and post it on Friday, since I know I won't have an FO.  However, the sour cream didn't make it.  (I kept scream for cream.  That sure is a Freudian slip. haha)

I know it looks the same as Saturday's post, but really, this one full repeat completed. The second ball of yarn for my granddaughter's dress is much different from the first. The only thing I can think to do is rip out the skirt and make the body a bit longer, finish it off as a nice pullover sweater.

Villa Mirabilia WIP

Here is my second WIP, it's Villa Mirabilia - Cross Stitch Pattern. I've been putting in a few stitches here and there. I think the colors will go really well with the afghan. It should cheer the place up quite a bit.

I'm going to put my feet up and work my afghan for a bit.  I think one more pattern repeat should finish this center panel.  Thank you to everyone who left comments.  I really enjoy reading them.

Bummer about the yarn for your granddaughter's dress... a sweater is nice. Really like the colors in both your afghan and the cross stitch. I'm always attracted to brighter colors like that.

Thanks for stopping by my place and commenting!

I love both of them! I tried to learn how to cross stitch once, but I kept poking myself with the needle! They're too tiny!

Ugh, sorry to hear about the fridge! We went through that nightmare about a year ago. Unfortunately, we own our place (and the fridge) and had to go buy a new one. Then, of course, they couldn't deliver it for a couple of days so all the food spoiled. Glad to hear you got a replacement (though smaller) so quickly.

The cross stitch is so pretty! I haven't done any cross stitching in YEARS (probably since like junior high!)

Yes, I know how that is with owning a home. My mom has went through 3 of them in 8 years. So much for my step-father's Consumer Report's research.

I hope you hadn't just shopped when your frig went.

Denise, I read your comment on Jean's knitting this am and had to come visit yours.......I haven't had a "beef on wick" since I left my hometown of Niagara Falls in 1968 and your just started my tongue watering for one! I think I'll have to plan a vacation in that direction soon.... never was able to make kimmelwick rolls that tasted like the real thing!
